He does and says that are very much off the beaten path. CONS: - Repetitive phrases that after a while start to get a little annoying. Jul 17, Jazz rated it liked it Shelves: yearly-challenge , m-m-romance. There were just too many things that dragged here that kept me from giving this 4 stars. The "see" thing was annoying at the beginning but it made sense after it was made clear why there was emphasis.
Putting so much focus on it later on didn't make as much sense since we already knew about him by then. Then there was taking too long, pages, on something that should have reasonably been a paragraph or two at the most. Tolliver is freaking out and about to leave and Noble doesn't make it clear qu There were just too many things that dragged here that kept me from giving this 4 stars.
Tolliver is freaking out and about to leave and Noble doesn't make it clear quickly that he's a widow and instead takes a few pages to calm him down to "see" what's really going on? It was just unnecessarily frustrating because it was just overly dramatic for a scene that was dramatic already and this approach wasn't realistic.
I like Noble and Tolliver, like how their connection developed and their chemistry was great. I like Sarah for the most part though I think some of her stuff was a little bit unnecessary as well. Maybe I sped through one part too fast, but I don't feel like Tolliver's ownership of the store was properly addressed later on since what Noble pointed out earlier on was true, it was a part of him and he would lose it.
This is a nice read, I'm not disappointed that I read it, but I wish it was more of a clear 4 star almost 5 star read. Unfortunately for me this story dragged on and on. I don't know what was more annoying, constantly reading the word "see" or Tolliver's idiocy. There were several facets that I did not like about this book. For example, the author makes it feel as though the two main characters are holding secret conversations that the reader is not privy to, nor does the author explain. Toviller will ask Noble "Promise me What is he prom Unfortunately for me this story dragged on and on.
What is he promising? In the previous paragraph they were talking about Sarah's jealously. Also Toviller constantly compares Noble to a feline. For a while there I thought I picked up a paranormal romance and Noble's big secret was that he was a shifter. After pages Tolliver still seems as clueless as he was in the beginning. Albeit, he did realize he needs to pay more attention to other people and work on his communication skills.
However, even after he learned these lesson he still proceeded to be oblivious and non-communicative.
Overall the premise was good but the story as a whole was lackluster. Tolliver has no life. He takes care of his younger sister and manages the bookstore she will one day own, but outside of that Noble has unique gift, a secret past and the key to Tolliver's heart. Noble "Sees" that his future is with Tolliver.

Can he convince Tolliver to give them a chance? This is a gorgeous story that blends the ordinary and the extraordinary into a fabulous mix that captivates and entertains. The characters are interesting and well developed. In fact, one of the sec Tolliver has no life.

In fact, one of the secondary characters is just clamoring for his own book! The story is romantic and sensual in a very soothing way. So, when angst makes its appearance, it has even more impact. There are many stories out there where the main character is raising a younger sibling. The two main characters in this story really come across as mature adults, a refreshing change of pace in a genre where most "men" behave like boys in many ways. Not that I mind that most of the time! Dec 31, Lakeisha rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: fans who love Willa Okati, fans who love tear-jerker books.
Shelves: tear-jerkers , wow , m-m-romance , quarterly-challengejan-mar , more-thanstars-books. And even though Tolliver pissed me off at some times, especially at the end, i wouldn't change a thing. Nov 18, Monika rated it really liked it. I really liked this story more than I thought I would when I first started reading it.
Noble was a bit much with his "I see. You'll see" stuff hence the 4 stars and Tolliver seemed more grown up at the beginning than he did as the book went on but even so the two of them together felt right and had me going "awwww" or in parts shedding a tear this book had something it got me! I've read one other Willa Okati book I liked it too, I'll be looking to read more of hers.

Nov 06, Annie rated it it was amazing. Tolliver and Noble are set up by Tolliver's sister Sarah. Of course, Tolliver is the last to know because he is always working. Mysterious Noble sees in Tolliver the chance to recapture the family he once lost and as a seer he is able to see that a future with Tolliver is possible. It's interesting to see their relationship develop as Noble courts Tolliver and they struggle to create a relationship and eventually a family.

May 22, Marianne Boutet rated it it was amazing Shelves: mm. OK - look at this as almost an adult fairy-tale. Tolliver has immersed himself into being Sarah's surrogate parent, to the point of being cold and unreceptive to any light in his life. But Noble - for better or for worse, storms the walls of his self-imposed walls - and like a true knight breaches the walls and forces Tolliver to confront himself. Sarah is a very good secondary character, and Joey ah, poor Joey plays his part as well. IMHO an excellent read. Jul 27, Shanna rated it it was ok Shelves: m-m.
There was something about this book that just didn't settle quite right. The characters didn't seem fully developed, and I really couldn't buy the love story.

I actually found the one character kind of creepy and pushy. Even the conflicts felt forced and the resolutions were hollow. Sure there was a happily ever after but I didn't really care. This book had a lot of potential but it just fell flat. Mar 06, Carolyn rated it it was amazing Shelves: m-m-romance. It is a totally frustrating book. You can not tell how it is going to end till you get to almost the last page. There are so many ups and down. You feel so much emotion for all the characters. You just want everything to turn out good. I started the book around 10 pm one evening and I could not stop reading until 6 the next morning.
I just had to know what was going to happen. This is one that you will want to take the time and read. Apr 25, Feliz rated it liked it Shelves: fantasy , m-m. This was a sweet read.
